Sit At Home is another means of protest, telling government you don't trust nor agree to it policies. The Sit At Home order started in 2016 in South East and some parts of South South. When the government of president Mohammadu Buhari started killing Igbo youths in their numbers, those protesting for good governance that later lead to serious agitation for a separate State, IPOB adopted Sit At Home as means to avoid killing the unarmed Igbo youths are dying in numbers.

More than 1000 Igbo youths have been killed under the supervision of Buhari government and some State governor's and more than 3000 Igbo youths in illegal detention all over Nigeria prison without fair trial. The Buhari government keep hunting for IPOB while Boko Haram, Iswap and bandits are moving freely all over the country attacking at will without full confrontation by Nigeria army and police, when it's IPOB members the Nigeria Force's seems more determine fighting them with all their armunation, while Boko Haram, Iswap and bandits are seen as government boys that doesn't deserve to die.
Why people obey Sit At Home
When Sit At Home started in 2016 after the Aba massacre, I don't really understand what it means till I witness group of able young men in Biafran attire attack Nwagbara (ngbuka parts) Nnewi. People were beating some motorcycle thrown inside gutter. After that even every market in Nnewi began to obey Sit At Home even if it was merely rumored.
Government hypocrisy
Governor's mandate every market leadership to make sure market's are open for business and threatened civil servant not to obey Sit At Home, but the funny thing is that the governor despite his security still obey Sit At Home and his own business shut down also despite given us assurance of protection the securities also Sit At Home.
Endsars and creation of ESN
In 2020 after the endsars revolution that nearly destroy the security architecture of Nigeria break out. (Lekki massacre) many things started happening, Fulani herdsmen with the help of Buhari government continues killing, kidnapping indigenous farmers all over Nigeria and the weakness of our governor's to protect our people gives birth to ESN. In December 2020 Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in bid to protect Igbo land from Invaders launch ESN which do not go well with governor's and the Buhari government. Nigerian Force's were ordered to crush them, but when the Nigeria Force's seems not getting the needed information from the indigenous Igbo youths, they start killing at will, which has turn Igbo land a battle ground while terrorist have taken over the north.
Extra rendition of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu
Nnamdi Kanu who escape death in 2017 when the Nigeria Force's were ordered to crush him and his supporters, narrowly escape death but Nigeria government who is known for illegality have been hunting for him till July 2021 when the news break up that Buhari government have arrested Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. In a bid to mount pressure on Eastern governor's to fight for the release of Nnamdi Kanu introduce Monday Sit At Home in the entire Igbo land. But it didn't go well since it brought many destruction in Igbo land, after many consultation IPOB DOS call off the Sit At Home.
Why people obey illegal Sit At Home
Simon Ekpa seeing the fear already created with destruction carried out in every Monday by criminals and arm rubbers and weakness of Eastern governor's in handling the agitation said Sit At Home must continue. People obey Sit At Home not because they like it but because of fear of what may happen to them. A trailer of goods loaded in back of Eco bank in motorcycle spare parts Nnewi was burned in Nsuka Enugu State, till today government did not compensate them. People obey Sit At Home because even the governor and security telling you to ignore criminals and go your business also Sit At Home. People obey Sit At Home because of fear of being killed. People obey Sit At Home because Nigeria is govern by criminals.
